The Italian Lagoon in El Gouna

The South Marina is very central, between the Abu Tig Marina and downtown, but still quiet. In the idyllic immediate surroundings there are several lagoons and very nice restaurants with a beach and a view of the water. A leisurely, short walk takes you downtown and to the marina, where almost all the restaurants, bars and shops are located.

kitesurfing

Kitesurfing in El Gouna - a true paradise for water sports enthusiasts! With a warm climate and water temperatures that reach up to 31 degrees, this place is a dream for anyone who loves the sun and water. There are almost no rainy days here and the sun is almost always shining. Especially in winter, it attracts many northern Europeans who want to escape the cold, wet weather. The wind conditions in El Gouna are almost perfect: the wind blows diagonally onshore, which creates optimal conditions for kitesurfers. In the hot summer months, the thermal wind blows particularly strongly, while in winter there are always good windy days for kitesurfing. Although the water is a bit colder then, which is why a long wetsuit is recommended, the advantages of the winter season are obvious: more space on the water, cheaper flight prices and the opportunity to leave the cold season in northern Europe behind. In the north of El Gouna you will find the most famous kitesurfing stations. There is a huge standing depth area here, which is ideal for first kite attempts and is a true paradise for freestylers. The kitesurfing stations offer an all-round service that makes kitesurfing particularly relaxed. Beach boys help with launching and landing the kites, there are rescue boats, kite repairs, storage rooms for equipment, showers, kite courses and equipment rental. But kitesurfing itself is not the only highlight - there is also a lot on offer away from the water. Large restaurants right on the beach spoil you with delicious food and refreshing drinks. Relax on the sun deck or enjoy the comfort of a sauna or pool at some stations. Entertainment is also provided: BBQ evenings or DJ nights take place sporadically, creating a great atmosphere.

Kite Event Weeks

Throughout the year we offer the "Kite Event Weeks" in the Kiba Kitehouse in certain weeks. During these weeks the kitehouse is transformed into a mixture of kite camp, kitesurfing event and bed & breakfast. Our goal is to enable a kite holiday for solo travellers, where our guests meet other like-minded people on site, feel well looked after and can still have a holiday at a reasonable price. As with other kite camps in Egypt, a fixed group is put together in advance. All participants live together in the Kiba Kitehouse. Unlike other kite events in El Gouna, you no longer have to worry about accommodation. All kite courses can be booked individually at the normal local prices of the kite stations. Our German-speaking guide on site will support you - he will give you all the information about the spots, the wind conditions and the kite courses in El Gouna. So you only book what you really need. If you are an advanced kite surfer, you may not need a kite course. If the wind is not playing along, you can simply save the money. For a successful start to the day together, breakfast is already included in the “Kite & Event Week”. You can find more information about booking and participation here.

Remote workers & on workation

Co-working spaces at the Kitepower kite station in El Gouna

El Gouna is an excellent destination for remote workers, and the Kiba Kitehouse in particular, with its friendly neighborhood, is a perfect place to stay for a workation. You can arrange to meet up with other people relatively spontaneously if you have the time and the desire. You have short distances to simply spend your coffee break by the sea and don't have to travel far in the evening. Living in the South Marina feels more familiar than some other residential areas, as there are permanent residents living here in addition to vacationers. You have a good internet connection in the house and some rooms are equipped with workstations. To compensate for this, there are a good range of sports facilities in the immediate vicinity of the South Marina: the breathtaking jogging path around the Sheraton, the Onati Yoga Studio, an open-air gym and the popular paddle and tennis courts. During the day, you can also move your work to the sea thanks to the perfectly located kite stations. Here you will not only find good company, a nice atmosphere and delicious food, but also new air-conditioned remote workstations. Especially during a longer stay, you have the opportunity to get to know like-minded people.

Families & Single Mums

Kitesurfers who want to spend a holiday with children will love the infrastructure of the kite stations right at the spot. The Kitepower kite station is particularly recommended here. There you will find a large covered restaurant, a children's play area, a large climbing castle with a trampoline, toys and very child-friendly waiters. Here, kitesurfing with children is a great experience for everyone. Kite vacation with children in El Gouna does not have to take place in a hotel. The Kiba Kitehouse is family-friendly and is equipped with a baby bed and high chair, among other things. It offers enough space for a larger family or two smaller families who are friends. Every family can feel at home here - with enough peace and quiet for the little ones and a pool for the slightly older children to play in. The kitchen with adjoining living room is practically equipped, including a dishwasher and microwave, and is perfect for a family meal together. The essentials from the supermarket can be conveniently delivered instead of having to lug them around. If you don't want to spend time cooking on vacation, you can order almost every dish from the restaurants cheaply. Are you a single mother or does your dad not have time to travel? Our nanny friend will look after the little ones at an affordable price, so that you can have some relief and maybe go kitesurfing again.

Paddling starts right at the neighboring Italian Lagoon. The lagoon is connected to the other lagoons and the open sea. You can explore the picturesque view of El Gouna from the water in a sporty, meditative way or in a larger group. It only takes about 10-15 minutes to paddle to Zeytona Beach. Here you can sunbathe, eat, get cool drinks, snorkel and relax. You will find many other great rest areas on the lagoon beaches and along the coastline.
